SIGH.....

Paul was on Ellen today. Sigh. Ava liked him....not as much as her mama, but close. For those of you who don't know who Paul is, he also goes by Kid Rock. Can I get a collective sigh? Ahhhh. Third pic is of Aves and Grandpa.....she had him wrapped up in her balloons at one point. Fourth pic is of Big Gus.....just cause he's so itty bitty and cuddly. :)

FISH!!!!

Okay, so I think that Ava was expecting Dorothy (from Elmo's World) when I told her we were going to see the fishies. Ummm...yeah...these fish kind of freaked her out. Took her about 5 minutes and then she was interested and very excited...before that she just wanted to get far, far away from the window! Oh, and by the way...the post placement visit went GREAT!!! Mike (our social worker) is such a nice guy. And, for those of you that were wondering, he smoked the wacky-tobacky with us. :)

MEET JAZZY!!!!

Tonight we went to the house of our good friend, Sheila. Sheila had a meeting for guide dogs for the blind. There were so many dogs....10 weeks to 9 years old! So much fun. Ava loved all the doggies....so well behaved compared to the ones she's used to!! The trainers were able to ask questions of Sheila and another very nice lady and her guide dog, Troy. Jazzy is Sheila's guide dog and she is so awesome. There is just something so special about her. I've witnessed her at play and working and she is just amazing. Sheila puts that harness on Jazzy and it's all business. She takes it off and she's just a dog....well, not "just" a dog...Jazzy will never be "just" a dog. We love them and are so glad that they are part of our family.

NEW SLIDE!!!!!

Well, we did it. It seems as tho Dave and Ava have this "thing" for slides. And, me, I'm tired of having to stop every ding-dang time we see one so that they can go down it. So, we bought a little play-structure-thingy. Too small for Dave, but Ava LOVES it!! Took her about 20 minutes to work up enough courage to go down it by herself and then there was no looking back. We found it on Craigslist....really nice family that has a farm not too far from us. We did okay with goats. And the chickens. And the turkeys. Even the two week old baby goat that was wearing a dog collar and bells. Then, Kelly (the very nice lady) brought out the pony. I seriously thought that Ava would be okay with it...I mean Gus is almost as big as it was. Not. The tears came. Fast and furious. Then the goats circled and I think that Ava was wondering why they weren't tied to the top of a van or on the dinner table. Yes, I still have nightmares about the goat being tied to the top of the van in ET. By the way....Thanksgiving is at our house this year and I'm going to make one of those tofu turkeys....anyone have any helpful hints? Dave and my dad are saying "hell no" to the toturkey....but, I'm standing my ground....I am so NOT putting my hand up inside of the disgusting flesh that was once a beautiful animal....okay, maybe not so beautiful, but still....NO WAY!!! How did I get on this rampage anyway? Okay, check out the new slide.....

BEACH TRIP!!!

Just FYI....I hate the ocean. It scares me....way bigger than my bathtub and way too noisy! Mom says I have to "get over it and quick" cause it's one of her very favorite places on Earth. Gonna have to work on that. Grandma, Grandpa, Dad, Mom, Big Gus, Lyla, Shiloh and I did have an awesome weekend tho. Mama says that I'm getting to be really spoiled...Daddy says that's just fine cause I have a long way to go before I'm as bad as she is....I'm not sure what they mean. Oh yeah...the funniest thing happened....Grandma has to buy a new camera...Shiloh buried her old one in the sand....Grandma said a bad word when she realized it was missing....good thing she loves Shiloh.....poor camera.
